Third Eagle Scout Project Completed

Luciano Roberts is the third local Eagle Scout applicant to tackle the Diamond Heights Blvd. median. Luciano brought a team of 13 scouts to the median on Saturday, July 29 and the following Saturday, August 5.. On the first workday, the team, including scout leaders and local community volunteers, worked to rejuvenate the median sections between the south entrance to Diamond Heights Shopping Center and Gold Mine Drive. In this median section, Luciano’s team weeded and removed portions of old mulch and spread fresh mulch that will control future weed growth. On the second workday, Luciano and his volunteer crew tackled the portion of the median from Gold Mine Drive across from St. Aidan’s Church. The team cleared weeds, renewed mulch, and planted sundrops, Kaboom! plants, lavenders, and California red buckwheat. Thanks to San Francisco Public Works Department for providing mulch and loaning tools.

Pride motivates us, the residents of Diamond Heights, to come together to polish and protect our small part of San Francisco.

Volunteers are welcome to join us any time, and for as long as you’re able to commit. Volunteers are needed for planting, grooming, collecting trash, and weeding. (We’ve installed landscape fabric and thick mulch to minimize the volume of weeding required.)
