Volunteers are welcome to join our project any time, and for as long as you’re able to commit.
In the early phases, volunteers are needed for planting, grooming, collecting trash, and weeding. (We’re installing landscape fabric and thick mulch to minimize the volume of weeding required.)
If that sounds more like work than fun, we also need volunteers to help with fundraising and promotion, work-day logistics and food prep, graphic design, and staffing our project table at neighborhood events and locations. Help in whatever way feels good.
Once the median islands have been replanted, we will need volunteers to coordinate and lead monthly maintenance work days.
There’s a role for every supporter. We’ve had volunteers as young as 10 and as old as, well, let’s just say that we’re sympathetic to knees and backs.
If you’re unable to contribute physically, but still want to help, we’d be thrilled to accept a donation, which will support the purchase of plants, soil amendments, and supplies.
Or if you’d like to mail your check, email Project Lead Paul Matalucci at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 415-826-0445.
